Job Description - Business Development Manager (IT Sales) Leading Global IT Consultancy - J12556

Our client, a leading global IT services and consulting firm, is seeking a highly energetic and results-driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth and expand their market footprint within the banking and financial services sector. In this strategic role, you will spearhead new client acquisition, shape winning deal strategies, and cultivate strong relationships with C-level executives at top-tier banks and financial institutions. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales expert with deep knowledge of IT products, infrastructure, and digital solutions tailored for the banking industry, capable of leading bid teams and collaborating with offshore delivery centers to position the firm as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Acquisition & Growth: Proactively research, identify, and acquire new banking and financial clients while strategically increasing wallet share within targeted accounts and long-tail business segments.
  2. Strategic Deal Shapin g: Formulate and execute comprehensive deal strategies, managing the end-to-end business development process to win high-value IT and digital transformation contracts within the financial sector.
  3. Relationship Management: Leverage personal and professional networks to build and nurture lasting relationships with key influencers, decision-makers, and CXOs in the banking industry to drive buying decisions.
  4. Bid Leadership & Workshops: Direct, motivate, and manage cross-functional bid teams. Conduct engaging customer workshops, utilizing the art of probing to logically shape and define complex IT requirements for financial institutions.
  5. Offshore Collaboration: Partner closely with virtual offshore teams—including delivery, solutions, practices, and Centers of Excellence (CoEs)—to formulate robust IT and "model-cum-people" solutions that meet strict banking regulations and standards.
  6. Target Achievement: Consistently achieve strategic yearly objectives, meeting and exceeding defined Goals, Targets, KPIs, and Thresholds.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Graduate degree with 10+ years of post-qualification experience, including at least 8+ years dedicated to business development, consultative sales, or account management within the technology sector, with a mandatory focus on the banking/financial services domain.
  2. Sales Acumen: Proven track record of generating leads, executing territory plans, and successfully marketing IT solutions to enterprise-level banking and financial organizations.
  3. Tech & Banking Domain Knowledge: Strong overall understanding of IT Products & Services, Technology Governance in outsourced environments, Operations IT, Infrastructure, and Digital/Security domains, particularly as they apply to banking operations and FinTech ecosystems.
  4. Problem-Solving: A natural problem solver who views solutions holistically, addressing both the technical architecture and the people/operating models required for success.
  5. Soft Skills: An energetic, passionate "go-getter" with exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  6. Language: Strong communication skills in English and Cantonese for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
