The company

Our client is an established financial services firm seeking a cash equities trading technology professional in Hong Kong. The business supports trading across APAC ex-Japan, with a focus on Hong Kong, mainland China, Korea and Taiwan.

The team

Reporting to the Head of IT, you will join the technology team supporting the firm's cash equities trading desks. The team covers front-office trading platforms and connectivity, with broader coverage of equity middle-office and research systems.

The position

We are recruiting a Business Analyst – Cash Equities Trading Technology based in Hong Kong, this position combines cash equities market knowledge with technical understanding of trading workflows and systems.

The role & responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements for cash equities trading workflows, from order entry and routing through to execution.
• Translate trading desk needs into requirements for OMS, EMS, DMA / algo trading and exchange connectivity.
• Support enhancements and integrations involving Fidessa or comparable OMS / EMS platforms, FIX engines and exchange gateways.
• Work with trading desks, IT teams and vendors on connectivity and trading platform requirements across Hong Kong, China Connect, Korea and Taiwan.
• Assess how market requirements affect trading workflows and system implementation.
• Contribute to wider equity middle-office or research technology initiatives as required.

The requirements

• Approximately 8–15 years of relevant front-office experience, with strong exposure to cash equities trading technology.
• Strong understanding of cash equities order flow from both business and technical perspectives.
• Experience with Fidessa or a comparable OMS / EMS vendor platform, together with FIX engine and connectivity knowledge.
• Familiarity with DMA, algo trading, exchange gateways and electronic trading workflows.
• Practical knowledge of Hong Kong cash equities, including the Investor ID regime and BCAN; experience with China Connect, Korea or Taiwan is highly valued.
• English proficiency is mandatory, Cantonese / Japanese proficiency is a strong plus
• Exposure to Bloomberg EMSX / FIX-NET, equity confirmations and allocations, CTM, Traiana, or equity research systems would be advantageous.
• Experience with a Japanese bank or broker is a plus.
