Hong Kong Island Cluster

Pay \: HK$58,922 – HK$88,971 (HGPS point 24 to 33) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Cluster Manager (Facilities Management) in the management of buildings and facilities and in the project management services at hospitals and institutions of Hong Kong Island Cluster. Major duties include:

1.       To assist in the implementation, monitoring and control of all capital projects and maintenance works in hospitals and clinics.

2.       To assist in planning of maintenance programs.

3.       To plan and implement quality assurance program to ensure that buildings, facilities and engineering operation comply with relevant standards and regulations.

4.       To manage and administer a database system of the buildings and facilities of HKIC hospitals and clinics.

5.       To co-ordinate and liaise with end-users, works agents and governments agents for the delivery of projects and maintenance works.

6.       To conduct inspections on contractors’ site works and building facilities of HKIC to ensure that quality, safety and environmental aspects comply with contractual requirements, relevant standards and local legislations.

7.       To supervise and report the performance of works agents.

8.       To attend to emergency calls after office hours and during inclement weather according to a roaster.

9.       To perform any other duties as assigned by Cluster Manager (Facilities Management) of Hong Kong Island Cluster.

Entry Requirements

1.      A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies or Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent.

2.      8 years of relevant experience.

3.      Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

1.     (a) Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE. OR

   (b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSE.

2.     Formal training in occupational safety and health.

3.     Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

4.     Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision.

5.     Outgoing and able to work under pressure and stressful situation.

6.    Knowledge of other common office automation (e.g. e-mail, Internet/Intranet, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD and other MS Office applications, etc.)

7.     Practical experience in public works projects.

8.    For Building Services Inspector

At least 4 years of working experience in the capacity of Assistant Building Services Inspector, or equivalent.
