Department Operations Manager (Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine), HKCH [For Serving HA Staff Only]

1.

Make planning in service rationalization and development within the cluster in accordance with the directions and annual plan of HA.

2.

Assist in the development and implementation of organization policies and plans, provide input in the formation of policies of the department/units.

3.

Develop clinical department plans and budgets.

4.

Manage operational activities of the clinical department/units.

5.

Be responsible for resources and financial management of the clinical department/units.

6.

Implement and evaluate the recruitment, deployment and retention strategies for staff.

7.

Maintain quality assurance in the delivery of patient care of the clinical department/units.

8.

Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing policies and standards within the department/units.

9.

 Facilitate and participate in the development of nursing profession.

Demonstrated ability in advanced managerial skills with track record of excellence in health care management and contributions to professional development including research/evidence-based practice, teaching and training. 

2.

A Master degree in nursing or related discipline. 

3.

Qualification in management*.

* Qualification in Management refers to post-graduate certificate/diploma or Master in health service related management, or Master in nursing# or other discipline with considerable coverage on health service related management.

An action plan should be submitted together with the application. In not more than 1500 words, write an action plan on the topic “As a Department Operations Manager, identify the key challenges of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital in the next 3 to 5 years from the department perspective and recommend strategies to strengthen integrated paediatric services, nurture the nursing workforce, and support sustainable high-quality care.” 

The action plan is a part of the selection process. If you do not submit the action plan, your application may not be considered.
