Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in rolling stock design and engineering
• Solid experience in rolling stock design is an advantage
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese

Remarks

• Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
• Candidate with less experience will be considered for the Support Engineer – Rolling Stock Engineering position
• Occasional business travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Undertake design tasks on mechanical/electrical systems on engineering vehicles such as locomotives, wagons, auxiliary vehicles and passenger buses
• Undertake asset replacement/refurbishment/modification projects and other improvement works related to engineering vehicles and passenger buses
• Provide in-house design technical solutions for effective implementation of improvement works
• Make recommendations to address technical problems of the existing system design and propose long term technical solutions
• Compile technical specifications, review design submissions, attend site inspection and testing and commissioning activities
