Engineer (Generation/Generation Engineering)

Contract Duration: 2-Year Contract

Work Location: Tuen Mun

We are looking for energetic professional to join the Generation Engineering Department of our Generation Business Group. Reporting to the Branch Manager and Team Leader of Technical Services Branch, the appointee will be responsible for carrying out the fire fighting system inspection and testing in our power stations. Major duties include:

Responsibilities:

• Plan and supervise subordinates and contractors, and be accountable for the Safe and Quality execution of works at power stations fire services workshops and installation services; 


• Lead a multi-disciplinary workforce to develop and implement engineering practices that enhance plant reliability, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety, health, and environmental performance.


• Plan and implement annual maintenance programmes for the inspection, testing and maintenance of Class 1 & 2 fixed fire services installations and equipment and Class 3 portable fire-fighting equipment.


• Ensure statutory compliance by coordinating the issuance of Certificates of Maintenance (FS251) and timely submission to the Fire Services Department.


• Manage projects, budgets, and resources, including capital, operating, and manpower expenditures, to achieve established performance targets.


• Coordinate with manufacturers, contractors, and internal stakeholders on the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire services systems, and develop effective contracting strategies.


• Manage and continuously improve fire services workshop operations, including reviewing engineering documents, developing maintenance and repair instructions, adopting best practices and innovative technologies, and liaising with relevant government departments.

Requirements:

• A recognized university degree in relevant engineering discipline, plus at least 3 years’ relevant working experience; 


• Solid experience in fire fighting system and knowledge in fire services legislation;


• Preference will be given to candidate possessing the qualification of qualified Plumber and Class 3 Fire Services Installation Contractor and a recognized first-aider;


• Exposures to power plant environment would be an advantage;


• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese; 


• Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; 


• Candidates with less experience will be considered for lower position;
