Head of Market Execution - Global Quant Fund - Hong Kong

Our client, a global quant fund, is actively seeking a head of market execution to join their growing team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will ideally come from a sell side or buy side institution with strong exposure in the algo trading space.

The role:

1. Execute both high-touch and low-touch orders across global markets—including equities, derivatives, FX, and fixed income—with the objective of minimizing slippage and transaction costs.
2. Lead and coach a team of execution traders; scale trading infrastructure and drive the build-out of automated and algorithmic execution capabilities.
3. Onboard and manage relationships with prime brokers, liquidity providers, and sell-side execution counterparties, ensuring strong execution quality and reliability.
4. Perform continuous Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and pre-/post-trade analytics to improve execution algorithms and quantify performance.
5. Ensure adherence to best execution requirements and regulatory obligations across jurisdictions, partnering closely with the COO and compliance functions.
6. Convert real-time insights on microstructure, liquidity, and volatility into actionable information to support Portfolio Managers.

What you offer:

1. 10+ years of buy-side trading or top-tier sell-side electronic execution experience.
2. Experience leading a a team of execution traders
3. Fluent or native Korean highly preferred
4. Strong working knowledge of algorithmic trading architectures.
5. Multi-asset coverage across cash equities, options, futures, and swaps.
6. Ability to communicate clearly in fast-paced situations, demonstrate strategic judgment, and collaborate effectively with both investment and operations teams.
