Hang Seng's Risk and Compliance ("RKM") strives to maintain a well-balanced risk profile for the Bank while enabling businesses to thrive. We are dedicated to collaborating with businesses, other functional units and regulatory bodies to develop and implement robust and customised risk management frameworks and measures to maintain the strong market position of the Bank.

Wholesale Credit Risk Management (WCRM) covers the approvals, policies, portfolio management and recovery of the Bank's Wholesale Credit Risk exposures alongside risk analytics; and working closely with Hang Seng Bank (China) Ltd’s WCR to ensure functional consistency in China.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Head of Wholesale Credit Risk Management.  

Principal responsibilities

• Reporting to Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of Hang Seng Bank (the Bank), the role-holder has the end-to-end responsibility in managing the Wholesale Credit Risk Management (WCRM) function including portfolio administration, generating portfolio level management information, monitoring and challenging portfolio risks, reporting on strategic risk exposure, identifying positions that contravene the company's credit risk policies and thresholds, supporting the implementation of risk valuation models, assessing credit performance, adequacy and strategies as well as analysing and commenting on market and portfolio development.


• Contribute to Credit Committee(s) by providing a constructive review of credit risk applications.


• Drive delivery of objectives in line with organisational strategy, enabling the achievement of functional or regional results.


• Exercise control over resources, policy formulation and planning, with primary accountability for end results.


• Drive the implementation of transformational change. Champion and embed best practice management and administrative procedures in own area of responsibility.


• Management responsibility for teams by providing clear direction, setting performance targets to subordinates and contributing to employees' professional development.

Qualifications

• Strong business sense, credit skills and product knowledge in various risk elements, i.e. credit and product skillsets in sovereigns, financial institutions, and corporate from large conglomerates to small-and-medium enterprises mainly in Hong Kong and China; as well as market risk understanding across various asset classes. 


• Ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing and high-pressured environment.


• Good presentation skills and ability to communicate and influence stakeholders.


• Proficiency in both English and Chinese.


• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, preferably with other professional qualifications.


• Minimum of 15 years' banking experience in corporate lending.


• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
