Investment Director, Venture Capital

Core Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Management

• Build Ecosystem Networks: Cultivate deep relationships with founders, accelerators, universities, and other VC firms to maintain a strong proprietary deal flow.
• Formulate Thematic Hypotheses: Conduct deep-dive market research to identify emerging technological trends and industry shifts to guide investment strategies.

Due Diligence & Deal Execution

• Lead End-to-End Execution: Oversee commercial, financial, operational, technical, and legal due diligence for target startups.
• Structure & Negotiate Transactions: Design creative, tailored deal structures, author investment term sheets, and manage closing documentation.
• Investment Committee Presentations: Draft comprehensive, data-driven investment memos and pitch target deals directly to the Investment Committee.

Portfolio Management & Value Creation

• Board Representation: Serve as a board member or observer to monitor performance, manage risks, and align stakeholder goals.
• Founder Mentorship: Provide strategic direction to startup founders on scaling operations, hiring, product-market fit, and future capital-raising.
• Exit Strategy Execution: Guide portfolio companies toward successful liquidity events, such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).

Team Leadership & Strategic Alliances

• Mentor Junior Professionals: Supervise, coach, and manage investment associates and analysts.
• Corporate Partnerships: Collaborate with corporate business leaders or limited partners to establish strategic business alliances and commercialization programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree holder from a globally recognised university
• At least 20 years of relevant experience
• Solid Mainland China and International experience
• Highly fluent Cantonese, English and Mandarin
