Job Description - Junior Project Manager (Fintech)

We are hiring a Junior Project Manager to support the Project/Programme Manager by owning delivery cadence, driving backlog execution, and removing blockers across multiple workstreams. This role is suited to someone with strong delivery discipline, DevOps-oriented practices, and an automation-first mindset, helping teams shift from task tracking to reliably delivering outcomes with quality and control.
Key Responsibilities 1. Backlog & Delivery Execution (Core Accountability)

Maintain a healthy, prioritised delivery backlog (features, user stories, defects, technical debt, automation items).
Run day-to-day delivery ceremonies and routines, including:
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint planning and backlog refinement
- Sprint reviews and retrospectives
- Kanban replenishment (where applicable)
Track and drive execution of committed work, including scope, dependencies, risks, blockers, actions, and decisions.
Proactively escalate issues early, providing clear options and recommendations.
Maintain delivery visibility for stakeholders through concise and accurate reporting:
- Progress tracking
- Burn-up / burn-down charts
- Milestones and release readiness
- RAID logs

2. DevOps Ways of Working & Automation

Support implementation of practical DevOps delivery practices, including:
- Definition of Ready / Definition of Done
- Release and deployment planning
- Change control alignment
- Quality gates and environment readiness
Identify and drive automation opportunities, such as:
- Test automation
- CI/CD pipeline improvements
- Repeatable deployment steps
- Automated reporting and workflow/ticketing
Help teams improve throughput and predictability by reducing manual effort and rework through:
- Root cause analysis
- Continuous improvement and lean delivery practices
- Backlog hygiene

3. Delivery Governance, Controls & Documentation (Security Context)

Ensure delivery artifacts are complete, accurate, and audit-ready, including:
- Delivery plans and schedules
- Requirements traceability
- Test evidence
- Change records
- Cutover and go-live plans
- Operational handover documentation
Coordinate cross-team dependencies with:
- Infrastructure and platform teams
- Endpoint, network, messaging, and application teams
- SOC, risk and compliance teams
- External vendors and partners
Support security and risk management processes, including approvals, exception tracking, control validation, and alignment with regulatory governance expectations.

4. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

Act as the delivery glue across internal teams and third parties-aligning timelines, clarifying ownership, and ensuring actions are closed.
Translate delivery progress and issues into clear, audience-appropriate updates for:
- Technical teams
- Management and leadership
- Risk, compliance, and control functions

Requirements Experience & Background

2-5 years' experience in delivery or project coordination roles such as:
- Junior Delivery Manager
- Project Analyst / PMO Delivery
- Scrum Master / Iteration Manager
- Technical Project Manager support
Experience working on integration, infrastructure, DevOps, or security-related projects.
Financial services experience is required.

Delivery & Technical Skills

Hands-on experience driving backlog-based delivery using Agile / Scrum / Kanban.
Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable to delivery commitments.
Working knowledge of DevOps practices, including:
- CI/CD concepts
- Release and deployment management
- Environment management
- Quality gates and automation principles

Personal Attributes

Proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
Comfortable working in regulated, security-sensitive environments.
