Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (“MRC”) for Hong Kong

The Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme is a framework to facilitate Authorized Institutions (“AIs”) to bilaterally obtain reference information during their recruitment process for certain positions, such that misconduct information in an individual’s previous employments can be provided to AIs to inform their employment decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct macro-economic updates and forecasts on major economies.
• Provide analyses and projections on exchange rates and financial markets.
• Undertake thematic research in macroeconomics.
• Provide response to ad hoc internal requests regarding economic or market developments.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree holder in Economics
• Proficient in data and statistics tools and MS Office
• Proficient in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
• At least 1 years of economic research experience
• Sound knowledge of economics, particularly on China-related issues.
• Adequate knowledge of global financial markets; banking knowledge is preferable.
• Good understanding of economic research methodologies.
