Meter Reader (Power Systems/Technical Services)

Contract Period: Permanent/2-Year Contract

Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Metering Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. Reporting to the Meter Reading Supervisor, the appointee is required to manage below major duties:-

Major Duties include:

• Perform on-site metering activities, including meter data retrieval, smart meter inspections, smart meter troubleshooting and handling customer enquiries. 


• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for meter reading tools and systems to support operational improvements and system enhancements.


• Plan, schedule and optimize the meter reading work orders and routes to ensure assignments are completed efficiently, effectively and safely.


• Identify and report meter and wiring abnormalities for timely follow-up actions.


• Act as a company ambassador by delivering responsive, professional and value-added services to meet customer expectations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B), or Level 2 or above in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language, or equivalent qualifications.


• At least 2 years of experience in performing outdoor operations, or field-based work.


• Strong safety awareness and a proactive commitment to safe working practice.


• Good command of spoken Chinese and English, and able to read and understand instructions and work-related documents in Chinese and English.


• Customer-oriented, self-motivated energetic, and processing a positive and pleasant personality.


• Possession of a valid Hong Kong driving license (Class 1, 1A, 2 or 2A) will be an advantage.
