Mortuary Attendant [Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital]

Key Responsibilities 

1. Attend to the general cleanliness of the mortuary.

2. Receive bodies of the deceased delivered to the mortuary.

3. Responsible for handling the bodies inside the mortuary and arrange for identifying claiming and removal of bodies by the relatives of the deceased.

4. Assist Pathologists in performing post-mortem examination.

5. Prepare for and clean up after autopsies.

6. Respond to on-call duties outside regular working hours when required.

7. Assist laboratory technician in performing laboratory examination.

8. Any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements

1. Able to write Chinese and speak fluent Cantonese and have some knowledge of English.

2. Pleasant and mature personality, interested to work in hospital environment with patients.

Preferable Attributes 

1. Completion of F.3 / S.3 education or equivalent.

2. Able to adapt to working environment in mortuary.

3. Relevant working experience.

Remarks

1. Required to wear uniform whilst on duty, to work shifts and to attend duties during typhoons, civil disturbance and other emergencies.
