Patient Care Assistant II (Occupational Therapy)

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirement (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months on-the-job training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
3. Serving staff who have completed the JUMP program organized by Hospital Authority are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level and eligible to apply for this post.

Department/Hospital: Occupational Therapy Department, Haven of Hope Hospital
Pay: HK$20,159 to HK$25,195 per month
Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist Occupational Therapists to
  a) Prepare and carry out patient screening, assessment, education, treatment and training in OTD, wards and rehabilitation centers.
  b) Teach and supervise patients in related skills during therapeutic activities;
  c) Carry out therapeutic assessments, remedial activities, education & rehabilitation groups.
  d) Maintenance of treatment / workshop areas, equipment, tools and materials conducive to treatment e.g. cleaning and sterilization process.
2. Provide technical assistance e.g. sewing, metal or woodwork and support to Occupational Therapists in
  a) making therapeutic devices, adaptive equipment and furniture to facilitate rehabilitation outcome, 
 and
  b) running related special projects, functions or activities
3. Perform independent operation of computers and data input for rehabilitation and clinical management purpose.
4. Provide administrative support in inventory control, procurement process and stock checking & data record keeping within clinical areas.
5. Carry out any duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:
1. (a) Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; OR
    (b) Completed F.3 / S.3 or equivalent (See Remarks) and with relevant working experience
2. Has completed an in-service training program (See Remarks).

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:
1. Competent in PC applications.
2. Be able to perform typing and computer operation in MS office, MS excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Great adaptability / flexibility and able to handle multi-tasks.
5. Mature, caring and interest in people.
6. Possess technical skill in metal work or woodwork or tailoring work.
