Department/Cluster: Department of Psychiatry, Kowloon East Cluster
Pay: HK$20,159 – HK$25,195 per month
Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide recovery support to people with mental health problems in the community and hospital settings
2. Promote the recovery concept in various settings within department and the people they served
3. Assist patients and caregivers in obtaining community resources and information that facilitate rehabilitation
4. Share and discuss experiences with people with mental health problems or staff, public in group or in public
5. Assist in organizing and providing recovery-based activities and training programs for people with mental health problems and their care-givers.
6. Assist in staff training meetings
7. Handle other administrative duties such as sending and receiving email and telephone calls, and completing required documentation etc.
8. To tidy and refill stock of consumables and equipment in ward especially for patient recovery-based activities and training program purpose.
9. To perform clerical task and computer data input task under supervision.
8. Carry out any shift duties as assigned by supervisor
Entry Requirements:
1. Has completed F.5/S.5, or equivalent
2. Has completed structured departmental training (See Remarks).
Preferred Attributes:
1. Has attained passes in 5 subjects in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language; OR Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language & Chinese Language.
2. Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken Cantonese.
3. Good communication (verbal & written) / presentation / group skills.
4. Good knowledge and skills in computer applications including MS Word, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
5. Completed relevant peer support worker training program.
6. Good interpersonal skills and willing to work and meet with people.
7. Having relevant working and organizing activity experience in mental health service.
