Regional Compliance Team Lead (Trade compliance) - Global FI

You will join a global, licensed bank with a strong presence across Asia Pacific, supporting both regulated financial products and technology-driven market services. The organisation operates with robust governance standards and maintains close relationships with regional regulators.

Your new role

Based in Hong Kong, you will lead North APAC compliance coverage, providing advisory support across electronic trading and financial markets activities. The role includes people management responsibilities, regulatory engagement, oversight of compliance controls, and close partnership with business, risk, and technology stakeholders on regulatory change and strategic initiatives.

• Lead Hong Kong regulatory compliance while providing regional oversight and guidance to the China and Japan compliance teams, ensuring consistent standards and regulatory alignment
• Oversee trade surveillance function in Hong Kong, managing a lean specialist team and ensuring effective monitoring, escalation and reporting of market conduct risks
• Act as senior compliance advisor for electronic trading platforms, covering regulatory interpretation, controls framework, incident management and engagement with business and technology stakeholders
• Serve as primary point of contact with Hong Kong regulators, supporting inspections, inquiries and regulatory change initiatives
• Directly report to the Asia Head of Compliance (Singapore), contributing to regional strategy, governance and compliance risk management across North Asia

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 10 years of compliance advisory experience within banking or financial markets
• Strong knowledge of electronic trading, financial instruments and market regulations
• Proven experience engaging regulators, including SFC and HKMA
• Demonstrated team leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication skills in English;
