Kowloon Junior School (KJS) is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse with at least 5 years of working experience to join the team starting August 2026
The nurse’s primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation of the medical room in order to provide professional, immediate and appropriate medical support to the students and the school.
Main responsibilities include:
Providing appropriate first aid and nursing care to students and staff at the school
Liaise with the student’s parents or guardians when the child is sick or injured and make arrangements to send home / hospitalization, where necessary
In the event of a serious accident or illness, accompany the student or staff member to hospital, if necessary
Arranging and organizing health related and inoculation programs provided by the SAR Government.
Advise and educate on follow-up care, general health matters, immunization and etc.
Maintaining the medical room in good condition by ordering and maintaining adequate medical supplies and keeping the room clean and sanitary.
Dispense medication, as appropriate
Maintain records of all visits to the medical room and report as appropriate.
Accident and insurance form completion.
Alert teachers on appropriate "Hot Weather Play" procedures
Maintain health records of students who need special medical attention.
Ensure “at risk” students are readily identifiable to staff.
Collate information for health department’s students health service.
Provide staff with first aid kits for camps, excursions, trips etc.
Be familiar with ESF medical policies laid down in the School’s Circulars and Administration Memorandum (SC/AM) and ensure that they are implemented properly
Keep up-to-date in respect of nursing practice
To perform other duties and assume accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives
Requirements
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and relish working as part of a team. His/Her excellent spoken and written English, coupled with warm personality and strong interpersonal skills, will enable him/her to communicate effectively with all members of the school community.
The successful candidate must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid dependent visa to work in Hong Kong.
