Senior Media Relations Executive

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks dynamic, high-caliber and experienced professionals to join our Technology and Digital Innovation Cluster. To strengthen Hong Kong's role as Asia's international business platform, we organise more than 30 world-class international trade fairs in Hong Kong each year.  These fairs, which cover various industries and sectors, create opportunities for companies to promote their products or services to buyers from all over the world.

Responsibilities:

• Foster close working relationships with journalists/editors of international/local trade/mass media;
• Prepare and distribute press releases/local supplements on HKTDC fairs, monitor media coverage and handle press enquiries;
• Proactively dig out news angles of the fairs, products and event highlights to pitch media;
• Arrange local press conferences and press interviews for senior management, including venue setup and drafting talk notes;
• Develop and maintain the database of trade and mass publications, magazines and journals related to HKTDC fairs, both globally and locally;
• Communicate closely with the worldwide trade and mass media in order to form an intelligence network of information on industry, overseas markets and competitive fairs;
• Work with overseas offices on international media invitation and press information distribution;
• Formulate and implement effective social media content and advertising strategies to promote HKTDC fairs to reach out wider audiences around the globe;
• Identify and collaborate with different social media/online/digital partners as well as KOLs and bloggers to maximize the awareness of HKTDC fairs and drive engagement on both online and offline level;
• Closely monitor the effectiveness of social media campaigns, measure the ROIs and provide meaningful insights with analytic tools.

Requirements:

• University degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, and/or Digital Media;
• Minimum 3 years' solid relevant working experience in media relations, corporate communications, marketing and/or social media, preferably with multi-national corporations;
• In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and resourceful to line up co-op with various partners and bloggers to cover and promote our services;
• Excellent press release writing skill in both English and Chinese is a MUST; 
• Strong communication and presentation skills;
• Multi-tasking, well-organised, detail-minded and independent with good initiatives;
• Excellent in time management and could meet tight deadlines;
• Proven track record in proactively planning and launching marketing campaigns via various online media and digital channels with successful results;
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including fluent in Putonghua.

Remuneration and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
