Sports Department Manager

Your Purpose

As a Sports Department Manager, you’re not just managing a department — you’re leading people, owning a business, and bringing sport to life for our customers. You give your team direction, help people grow, make decisions, and take responsibility for the performance of your sports business.

• This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be close to your teammates and customers on the shop floor, while having the autonomy to turn opportunities into action.
• For those with the ambition and potential to grow further, this role can also be an important step towards future Store Leader opportunities within Decathlon.
• This role may be based in one of our Hong Kong stores. The exact store and sports scope will be discussed based on business needs and the right match between the candidate, team, and opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and develop your team through recruitment, coaching, regular feedback, and development
• Own the performance of your sports business, including sales, productivity, stock, and commercial KPIs
• Understand your customers and turn insights into practical commercial actions
• Set priorities and mobilize your team around clear objectives
• Create an excellent customer experience and lead by example on the shop floor
• Plan your team resources according to customer and business needs
• Build the right product offer, layout, and commercial priorities for your sports
• Develop local sport communities and opportunities around your department
• Take responsibility for decisions, results, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to the safe and effective daily management of the store
• Work closely with other department managers and store leaders to achieve collective results
