Vice President - Trading Development (Platforms & Analytics)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a bright and analytical individual to join our Trading Development Team under HKEX's Operations Division, who will contribute to strategically important initiatives in the HK securities market, the HK derivatives markets and Stock Connect program. Your role includes modernising trading platforms, analysing data, conducting tests, and managing trading platform projects from analysis and solution design to implementation, market readiness, and regulatory approval. Job Duties:

• Assist in developing the trading platform strategy for growing the HK securities market, the HK derivatives market and Stock Connect programme
• Manage and drive strategic projects throughout different stages of projects, from requirement gathering and documentation, user acceptance test (UAT) to post release market monitoring
• Manage internal stakeholders and exchange participants on trading initiatives, driving alignment and collaboration across project teams and various stakeholders, supporting senior management in execution of strategies and negotiation with counterparties
• Act as a business analyst to identify the business needs, design and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
• Gather complex business requirements and articulate them in a clear manner, and work with business and IT teams to prepare documentation (e.g. project plan, business requirements and test plan)
• Oversee and mentor junior team members in project management, quality assurance, and data analytics

Job Requirements:

• University degree, preferably in Finance/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Business Administration or related disciplines
• 10+ years relevant experience in the financial services industry, of which at least 3 years at supervisory level
• Minimum 3 years of system development/ client support experience in core mission critical platforms
• Hands-on experience in creating test strategies, test plans and UAT cases from Functional Requirements Specifications
• Broad experience in business analysis and project management using methodologies such as Prince2, Waterfall and Scrum
• Meticulous and high agility with growth mindset; a self-starter, effective team manager, and skilled communicator with strong judgment and proven problem-solving abilities
• Strong technical skills and solid understanding about the Hong Kong securities market/derivatives market/Stock Connect trading is an advantage
• Experience in Bloomberg, FactSet, WIND, Python, SQL, Power Automate, Tableau and PowerBI, etc. is an advantage
