VP, Sustainable Finance (Energy Transition Focus)

Our client, a leading international bank, is seeking a high-calibre AVP / VP to focus on energy transition and decarbonisation advisory underSustainable Finance team.

This is a front office role, working directly with corporate clients across hard-to-abate sectors (e.g. oil & gas, aviation, shipping, and heavy industries), supporting them on their transition journeys and translating strategies into practical financing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with corporate clients to understand their decarbonisation strategies, transition plans, and sustainability challenges
• Advise on energy transition pathways, including areas such as electrification, alternative fuels, and Scope 3 emissions
• Structure and deliver sustainable and transition financing solutions (e.g. sustainability-linked loans, transition finance)
• Originate new business opportunities and drive client engagement across key sectors
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (coverage, product, risk) to deliver tailored solutions
• Contribute to the bank's net-zero and financed emissions strategy, supporting implementation across portfolios

Requirements

• 7-12 years of experience in Energy transition / decarbonisation advisory / Climate / sustainability consulting
• Strategy roles within heavy industry (oil & gas, aviation, shipping, manufacturing, utilities)
• Strong understanding of Decarbonisation levers and transition pathways, ESG frameworks, net zero, transition finance concepts
• Proven exposure to client-facing or stakeholder engagement
• Ability to translate technical sustainability topics into commercial / financing discussions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering, environmental science, economics, finance)
