VP/FVP-Business Risk Management (1st LoD) and Business Manager

To oversee the first-line business risk management within Private Banking, ensuring effective risk identification, control, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. The role partners closely with front office and control functions to maintain a strong risk and control environment while supporting business objectives.

• Be responsible for providing First Line of Defense (FLoD) business risk control and business manager for Private Banking (HK)
• Collaborate with product specialists, investment consultants, RMs, ARMs, and control functions (Legal, Compliance, Operations, Risk, BR&C, Internal Audit) to ensure Private Banking operates in a compliant risk and control environment.
• Maintain strong focus in the aspect of risk & control with identification and assessment of risks related to all PB activities and for the implementation of a robust and effective control framework.
• Work with Head of PB on business management, business strategy, and reporting.
• Conduct regular FLoD Tests on KYC Periodic Review, New Accounts, PB Classification, Fraud, Trade Orders, PI, Selling Process, Cross Broder Activities, etc. to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Supervise day-to-day activities of sales team.
• Oversee responsibilities outlined in the Compliance Manual, SOP, regulations.
• Provide coaching and guidance on policies and procedures in order to promote a strong culture of risk awareness.
• Customer complaints handling and resolution (via liaison with the Legal and Compliance Division if necessary) to ensure appropriate supervisory oversight is maintained at all times.
• Work with second line and third line of defense to identify key risk areas and adopt action plans to continue seek improvement of our risk control process in the front office.
• Represent front office in engaging in internal and external audits, Compliance testing assignments and also Risk and Control Self Assessments, to drive strong risk culture in the front office

• Over 10 years of work experience including over 5 years of experience in foreign PB’s First Line of Defense Business Risk Management or PB Compliance area in HK or Singapore
• Extensive product knowledge and expertise across Private Banking/ Wealth Management platform
• End to end Operations knowledge and understanding of risks and controls in private banking
• Extensive experience in managing diverse, international and cross-cultural organizations.
• Familiarity with regulatory matters and management of key external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of corporate governance and management of senior management dynamics
