Sector Coverage Team is composed of highly experienced, sector-focused banking professionals that cover major industries across the Asia Pacific (ex. Japan) region. In collaboration with product and country bankers, the Sector Coverage Team leads strategic client dialogue and originates event-driven transactions across the TMT, Diversified Industrials, Infrastructure & Utilities, Energy & Natural Resources, Consumer/Retail & Healthcare, and Financial Sponsor sectors.

This 8-week internship program gives an exciting opportunity for students who show a strong interest in the banking industry. It is an ideal way of discovering if a career in the banking industry matches your needs and aspirations. The program is structured and comprehensive:

1. You will participate in our day-to-day business and specific projects;
2. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals, gaining insight into our corporate culture and business.

Upon completion of the program, you can expect to have gained a broad insight and fresh perspectives to your understanding of what we do, and have met some of the best minds in banking.

1. As an intern, you will attend an induction program where you will learn about Mizuho Bank, our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of working at the Bank.
2. You will receive department-specific training designed to help you succeed and will have the opportunity to work on real responsibilities alongside subject matter experts.
3. Your key responsibilities will be to:
4. Support sector bankers in origination and execution initiatives
5. Build, track, expand and update databases
6. Support the preparation of pitchbooks
7. Support the preparation of deal materials
8. Assist with the research and analysis of new sub-sectors

1. The individual is a team player, ready to take on challenges, highly motivated and has a keen interest to work in a bank.
2. He/she has broad general knowledge, high versatility and good analytical ability.
3. He/she has solid communication skills and good analytical problem solving skills.
4. He/she should have respect for, and commit to high standards of business conduct and integrity.

1. The individual is a Hong Kong-based undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business related disciplines with excellent academic results.
2. He/she has excellent English and Chinese language skills. As a Japan-headquartered firm, candidates with an appreciation of the Japanese language or culture would be highly desired.
3. He/she has previous internship experience at a bank, investment firm, asset management firm, financial service institution, or large multi-national corporate.
4. The individual has strong skills in Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
