Contract Full Time / Contract Part Time Patient Care Assistant II, Ambulatory Care Centre, Queen Eli

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform patient care under nursing supervision:
- Assist medical staff during clinical consultation / treatment and investigation procedure.
- Control patient flow for consultation.
- Perform ECG and blood taking.
- Perform patient’s assessment and treatment.
- Assist in clinical audit, research, health education etc.
- Handle patient / public enquiries or refer to seniors as appropriate.
2. Perform clinical duty under nursing supervision:
- Handle patient’s clinical data.
- Appointment booking, attendance taking and statistical data processing.
3. Perform routine duties to support clinical consultation:
- Prepare and tidy the consultation rooms before and after each consultation session.
- Clean and disinfect the surgical instrument and equipment after each use according to the infection control policy.
- Perform equipment checking according to clinical protocol.
- Assure the instrument count is correct and the working condition is satisfactory before use.
- Assist nurse in-charge to check and prepare medical consumables and materials for examinations, restock after use and assist in store inventory receiving and delivery.
- Report for discrepancy/ malfunction/ broken down of any surgical instrument/ equipment to supervisors.
4. Provide support to the clerical team in preparation of the medical records, documents and stationery for consultation.
5. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:
1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent.
2. Completion of structured in-service training program (see Remarks 2).
3. Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:
1. Holding of the following certificates that issued by Hospital Authority :
     (a) Module (A)\: Blood-taking Training under "Patient Care Assistant (Clinical Assistant) Training"; Or
           Module (A)\: Blood-taking Training under "TSA(CA) Training" or equivalent.
     (b) Module (B) \: ECG Training under "Patient Care Assistant (Clinical Assistant) Training"; Or
           Module (B) \: ECG Training under "TSA(CA) Training" or equivalent.
2. Proficiency in Putonghua is preferred.
3. Able to work under pressure including busy workload and escalating expectation from patients and public.
4. Good PC skills & knowledge in common MS Office applications.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
3. The required number of working hour of the Contract Part Time post 19.5 hours per week.
4. The service of Queen Elizabeth Hospital will be relocated to the Kai Tak Hospital in phases starting from year 2026.
