Temporary Part-Time Patient Care Assistant II (Speech Therapy) [Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hosp

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Assist speech therapists providing direct / indirect patient care in communication and swallowing assessment and treatment.

2.      Prepare and maintain therapeutic / educational equipment tools and materials.

3.      Assist speech therapists to conduct group activities and educational talks.

4.      Supervise patients during therapeutic activities.

5.      Provide administrative and clerical support for daily operation of the department.

6.      Handle patient registration, appointment booking, enquiry and make telephone follow up.

7.      Liaise, coordinate and organize meetings, programmes and activities.

8.      Participate in service programme development, implementation and evaluation.

9.      Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Entry Requirements:

1.      Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent (see Remarks);

2.      Completion of structured departmental training (see Remarks);

3.      Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes:

1.      Working experiences in the healthcare settings or related disciplines.

2.    Good knowledge in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc

3.      Good interpersonal communication skill, creative, self-motivated and able to work independently.

4.      Mature, caring and interested to serve and communicate with patients.

5.      Proficiency in a Chinese dialect other than Cantonese.

2.     Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

3.   Serving staff with F.3/ S.3 standard and 2 years’ care-related work experience may also be considered. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by Hospital Authority are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level.

4.     Appointment will be on temporary terms up to 27 May 2027.

5.      Working hours up to 19.5 hours per week.
