Middleware Engineer /Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Middleware Engineer.

In this role, you will:

• Implementation of Run the Bank Activities related to Middleware such as new implementation of application servers and massaging servers’ environments that are compliant with HSBC Standards for Middle East Business


• Responsible for review of applications requirements related to application and messaging servers to ensure that they comply with the nonfunctional requirements to maintain quality.


• Ensure correct process and procedure is followed always and quality maintained to provide the best service possible to both internal and external customers.


• Identifies solutions to problems and mitigates risk based on sound judgment.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, Baseline Secondary Standard, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour.


• Undertake the co-ordination of projects instigated by or with other IT teams. This incorporates the approval of plans ensuring they are unambiguous, understood, and have commitment.


• To establish plans, schedules, and business cases for approved projects. Assign project tasks to team members and provide effective management to ensure delivery of these projects.


• To undertake problem investigation and systems recovery.


• To adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Need to have proven Experience in Application Servers ( ex. IBM WebSphere, Tomcat)


• Need to have proven Experience in Messaging Servers (ex. IBM MQ)


• Need to have proven Experience in Web Servers and reverse proxy (ex. IBM HTTP, Apache)


• Need to have preferred to have experience in File Transmission (ex. Internet Gateway, IBM CD Gateway)


• Excellent in English written and spoken.


• To have good project management skills with a proven ability in delivering projects.


• To have some technical leadership and/or management ability.


• Specialist knowledge in at least one of the technical disciplines, such as programming, system configuration, database administration, scripting, performance and capacity management or scheduling.


• Good knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations, and networks, and associated technical problem determination skills.


• Ability to prioritize own work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical environment.
