Main Goal

From mother plant to final product form contribute to seed quality for germination, seed health and purity

The Agronomic and manufacturing research lead ASIA will conduct short to mid term research and development projects  to secure seed quality in a end to end approach in Supply chain. He will also contribute to trouble shouting technical challenges critical for the business together with Supply chain stakeholders as seed physiologist expert.

Job description

•    Short term research or technical activity to improve existing processes in operations or in seed production or QC, like help design, implement, & analyze, field research conducted by the Seed Production department, or testing new third party seed enhancement products and polymers for operations, testing seed safety with new seed treatments, developing new seed priming techniques if needed, or developing protocols for new machinery purchased by operations or helping QC in standardising the testing protocols, help in designing the trials & analyse etc.  These projects can be by request or initiated by the Seed technologist.
•    Long term research activities like, higher risk projects, designed to increase the likelihood of producing high quality seed or tools/techniques that would help in improving productivity or reduce dependence on labour, ease of working etc.  These longer-term projects may also include novel added value products that would enhance the HM-Clause brand.  
•    Will contribute to troubleshooting technical problems that arise in plant operations, seed production, and customer complaints. Projects are initiated by request from the individuals that oversee these areas. These activities may include anything from answering technical questions, to researching past literature, to conducting small experiments designed to answer the question or solve the problem. Many times, these projects are “fires” that need to be put out.
•    To help develop process control measures to validate the processes. 
•    To actively participate in the productivity improvement programmes
•    To collaborate with local agri institutions & also with HMC global for transfer of knowledge.
•    To represent HMC Asia in internal & external technical forums.    
•    The weightage to different functions of Supply chain will be: 60% to Operations, 20% each to Production & QC.
