As a critical link between the organization and its enterprise clients, the Area Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable energy adoption, contributing to corporate sustainability goals, and strengthening the company’s position as a leader in the solar industry.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives and market opportunities in the solar energy sector.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of B2B sales representatives, ensuring performance excellence through coaching, goal setting, and regular feedback.
Identify, qualify, and pursue new commercial and industrial B2B prospects, focusing on solar PV system installations for businesses, manufacturing facilities, and institutional clients.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision -makers at enterprise accounts, including facility managers, sustainability officers, and procurement teams.
Collaborate with technical and project development teams to deliver customized solar solutions that meet client energy needs and financial objectives.
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to refine sales approaches and improve win rates.
Prepare and present detailed proposals, financial models, and ROI analyses to support client decision -making.
Track and report on sales pipeline, forecast accuracy, and KPIs using CRM platforms to ensure transparency and data -driven planning.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout the sales and project handoff process.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience (5+ years) in B2B sales, with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets in the renewable energy, clean tech, or construction industry.
In -depth knowledge of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) technology, financing models (PPA, lease, cash purchase), and incentive programs (e.g., ITC, state rebates).
Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multi -stakeholder decision -making and long -term contracts.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, forecasting, and client presentations.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at the executive level.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
Experience in team leadership and performance management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
Familiarity with sustainability metrics and ESG reporting is a plus.
