About the Role:
As the Assistant Lead – Automation, Data & Intelligent Systems at Mumbai, you will play a pivotal role in building scalable data systems, automation workflows, and reporting pipelines while leading a small team of 2–3 members. This is a hands -on leadership role for someone who thinks in systems, data models, and leverage—not just tools or tasks.
You will work closely with business teams to identify inefficient or repetitive processes and convert them into reliable automated systems, with a strong emphasis on data integrity, operational efficiency, and long -term scalability. You will also collaborate cross -functionally to ensure robust reporting, intelligent workflows, and seamless system orchestration.
What You’ll Do:
â Database & Data Architecture (Core Focus):
â Design and maintain clean, scalable database structures that act as the single source of truth.
â Make architectural decisions around data normalization, identifiers, and historical vs. current data management.
â Ensure data consistency, integrity, and reliability across systems.
â Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for operational and analytical use cases.
â Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, or similar platforms.
â Automation & System Design:
â Design, build, and own end -to -end automation workflows across departments.
â Identify repetitive, monotonous, or error -prone processes and eliminate them through automation.
â Use tools such as n8n, Make.com, Google Apps Script, or equivalent automation platforms.
â Implement error handling, retries, monitoring, and alert systems.
â Continuously refactor and improve automations as systems scale.
â Data Pipelines & Orchestration:
â Build and manage data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Airbyte, or similar orchestration tools.
â Use Python for data transformation, validation, and processing.
â Integrate systems using APIs and webhooks.
â Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
â Reporting & Decision Support:
â Build clear, decision -ready dashboards for leadership and cross -functional teams.
â Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear metrics and KPIs.
â Ensure reporting logic is transparent, accurate, and trusted.
â Identify and resolve root -cause data issues instead of surface -level dashboard fixes.
â Intelligent & AI -Assisted Systems:
â Identify opportunities where AI can enhance automation and decision -making (e.g., classification, summarization, prediction, routing).
â Understand AI limitations and implement proper guardrails supported by clean data.
â Experiment responsibly with AI -driven solutions to improve system effectiveness.
â Team Leadership & Ownership:
â Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 members through guidance, reviews, and prioritization.
â Set quality standards for automation, data systems, and documentation practices.
â Manage multiple requests while communicating progress clearly to stakeholders.
â Document systems, workflows, and architectural decisions for long -term continuity.
â Additional Duties:
â Collaborate cross -functionally with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency.
â Continuously evaluate and improve systems for scalability and long -term sustainability.
â Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management, aligned with the broad scope of the position.
Who You Are:
â Must -Have:
â 4–6 years of relevant experience in automation, data systems, analytics engineering, or related domains.
â Strong understanding of database structures, relational database fundamentals, and data modeling.
â Advanced SQL expertise with experience in writing optimized production -grade queries.
â Proven experience building and managing production -grade automation systems.
â Ability to debug, refactor, and own systems end -to -end.
â Strong systems -thinking mindset with the ability to think beyond individual tasks and focus on scalable solutions.
â Should Have:
â Experience with Python for data processing, transformation, and validation.
â Hands -on experience with Apache Airflow, Airbyte, or similar orchestration tools.
â Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
â Experience working with CRMs such as LeadSquared, Zoho, or similar platforms.
â Ability to translate business problems into structured systems and workflows.
â Nice to Have:
â Curiosity and practical exposure to AI -assisted workflows and intelligent automation systems.
â Experience experimenting with emerging automation and data tools while maintaining strong foundational practices.
â Strong documentation and process -improvement capabilities.
