We are seeking an Assistant Transport Planner to support our Transport Planning and Mobility team in Noida/Mumbai/Bengaluru to work alongside our Middle East discipline. Middle East transport team offers clients a wide range of multi-disciplinary services including strategic planning of greenfield and brownfield area master planning, transportation corridor developments such as highways, bridges and tunnels, public transport systems, regional / strategic transport modelling (VISUM, CUBE), transport modelling of local networks (VISSIM, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, HCS) and, pedestrian modelling (LEGION, VISWALK).
The successful candidate will be working in a team environment to develop and deliver projects through various stages of design from feasibility to planning/detailed design and onto construction.
Support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of transport planning projects across the business.
Opportunities to contribute to a range of projects, including business cases, transport assessments, strategic network studies, active travel strategies, public transport studies, research, travel behavior change initiatives, etc.
Assess the transportation impacts of proposed developments and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements, prioritizing active and sustainable transport modes.
Fulfill a technical role across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring a challenging and engaging workload.
Conduct technical reviews to maintain the highest quality standards in project deliverables.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and documentation for active travel and transport planning schemes.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, collaborating across teams and disciplines to deliver joint projects effectively.
Ensure the timely and budget-conscious delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
Support line managers in resource planning, identifying and escalating concerns related to workload or utilization as needed.
Provide feedback to line managers on team performance and professional development needs.
Identify, assess, and manage technical project risks in collaboration with the line manager.
Contribute to the company’s sustainability initiatives through transport planning strategies.
Actively participate in team and project meetings, providing valuable insights and expertise.
Key Competencies / Skills
Bachelor's Degree with Master's in Transport Planning/Transportation Engineering.
Good understanding of master planning principles, transit-oriented developments, micromobility planning and sustainable transportation systems
Understanding of the technical transport planning environment
Strong analytical and numerical skills, especially in MS Excel
Ability to write high-quality technical reports and prepare PowerPoints
Strong written communication skills
Good understanding of urban roadways design principles and highway components.
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools such as ArcGIS
Experience with use of AutoCAD software
Experience
2-4 years of experience as a transport planner
Experience working for international projects in Middle East is beneficial but not essential.
