Description

Role purpose

We are looking for a VB/VB.Net developer who can design, implement, and support functional changes, as part of a project, core development or platform support.

This role will focus on developing a procedural language, being CTL (Capital Translator Language), which is internal to MUFG Retirement Solutions’ New Zealand market applications.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic Focus

Designing, coding, and unit testing business code in the new architecture.

Migrating existing functionality from the existing codebase to the new architecture.

(CTL is a bespoke in-house business-oriented development language. Training will be provided to the successful individual in this role)

Operational Management

Documenting all development tasks, diagrams, and other artifacts.

Timely completion of activities, adhering to existing process and quality standards.

Participate in team discussions, providing early escalation of issues and input into the change management process.

Governance & Risk

Ensure timely completion of activities by adhering with the agreed processes & quality standards.

Participate in day-to-day meetings, providing early escalation of issues and input into change management.

Support during the completion of QA testing.

Experience & Personal Attributes

Experience

Graduates or equivalent in Information Technology

Exposure to mainstream Development Language to Visual BASIC, VBA, VBScript, VB.net, C# would be advantageous. Training can be provided where necessary.

Basic understanding of Development Methodologies - Waterfall, Agile.

Personal Attributes

Effective verbal and written communication skills, needed to communicate with global teams/stakeholders.

Practical and simple problem-solving approach.

Effective Team player with collaborative skills, learning and proactive attitude.

Quality orientation with attention to detail.

Commitment to continuous improvement
