Investment Management Business & Operational Transformation Manager
Role Overview
The Investment Management Business & Operational Transformation manager role within Voya Investment Management, accountable for driving enterprise‑level operational effectiveness across the investment management value chain. Reporting to the India Head of Investment Management and functionally working and coordinating with Senior Vice President, IM US responsible for the PMO and Business Operation Transformation agenda, this role focuses on improving how investment management operates—spanning front, middle, and back‑office processes—by identifying inefficiencies, modernizing operating models, and enabling scalable, data‑driven execution.
This position requires deep investment management domain knowledge, paired with strong transformation leadership, to translate strategic objectives into measurable operational outcomes. The candidate/s partners closely with senior investment, operations, finance, technology, and risk leaders to simplify processes, improve controls, enhance transparency, and enable sustainable efficiency gains. While structured execution discipline is important, success in this role is defined by business impact, adoption, and improved operating performance, rather than project mechanics alone.
Investment Management Domain Leadership
- Serve as an advisor to investment and operations leadership on operating model design, process optimization, and efficiency opportunities across investment management functions.
- Apply strong understanding of investment lifecycle processes, including portfolio management support, trade operations, data management, performance, reporting, and governance.
- Identify structural inefficiencies, duplication, and friction points across front, middle, and back‑office workflows and drive pragmatic solutions.
- Ensure transformation initiatives are grounded in investment management realities, regulatory considerations, and risk‑management requirements.
Operational Transformation & Process Improvement
- Lead enterprise‑scale initiatives focused on operational simplification, standardization, and automation within investment management.
- Design and implement future‑state operating models that improve scalability, resiliency, and cost effectiveness.
- Champion continuous‑improvement practices, outcome‑based metrics, and clear success criteria tied to business performance.
- Leverage AI‑enabled tools, analytics, and automation to improve process efficiency, data quality, and decision support.
Strategic Execution & Business Enablement
- Translate investment management strategy into cohesive execution roadmaps aligned to business priorities and capacity constraints.
- Support leadership decision‑making by synthesizing complex operational issues into clear trade‑offs, options, and recommendations.
- Balance near‑term execution needs with longer‑term transformation objectives to ensure sustainable change.
Governance, Risk & Controls
- Strengthen governance and control frameworks supporting investment management operations, ensuring consistency, accountability, and regulatory alignment.
- Proactively identify operational risks, execution gaps, and control weaknesses, and drive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure transformation initiatives align with audit, regulatory, and data‑governance expectations.
- Use data‑driven insights and AI‑enabled monitoring to surface trends and emerging risks.
Cross‑Functional Influence & Leadership
- Build trusted partnerships across investment teams, operations, technology, finance, risk, and vendors.
- Influence outcomes across complex, matrixed environments without direct authority.
- Act as a visible change leader, reinforcing a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Investment Management & Operational Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience within investment management, with significant exposure to operations, transformation, or operating‑model change.
- Demonstrated understanding of investment management workflows, controls, and regulatory considerations.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable operational efficiencies and process improvements.
Transformation & Analytical Skills
- Strong financial acumen and ability to assess cost, benefit, and risk trade‑offs.
- Experience leveraging data, analytics, and AI‑enabled tools to drive operational insight and improvement.
- Ability to connect strategy, operations, and execution into coherent transformation outcomes.
