We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Business Development Executive / Sales Officer / BDE to drive business growth and revenue through Modern Trade (MT) channels. The role will focus on developing retail relationships, expanding market presence, managing key accounts, and achieving sales targets across organised retail and modern trade formats.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Modern Trade sales, excellent relationship-management skills, and a proven ability to identify business opportunities, negotiate commercial terms, and execute channel strategies effectively. This role requires a commercially driven professional who can combine field execution with structured sales planning and account management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow business through Modern Trade (MT) channels.
• Identify new business opportunities across organised retail chains and modern trade accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, buyers, store teams, and retail decision-makers.
• Achieve assigned sales, revenue, distribution, and business-development targets.
• Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, meetings, presentations, negotiations, order generation, and account development.
• Conduct regular customer and market visits to understand requirements and identify growth opportunities.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, promotions, listings, visibility, and other account-level requirements.
• Monitor product availability, stock levels, distribution, shelf presence, and in-store execution.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely order processing, supply, delivery, and issue resolution.
• Track account-wise sales performance and identify gaps against targets.
• Prepare sales forecasts, business plans, customer updates, and performance reports.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and customer behaviour.
• Support new product launches, promotional campaigns, and channel-specific initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales through new accounts, expanded distribution, product assortment, and improved retail execution.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines, and activity reports.
• Follow up on payments, outstanding issues, and commercial commitments where required.
• Provide regular updates to management on market developments, customer feedback, opportunities, and risks.
• Work collaboratively with marketing, supply chain, finance, operations, and other teams to achieve business objectives.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, channel sales, or a related commercial role.
• Proven hands-on experience in Modern Trade (MT) sales and organised retail.
• Strong understanding of modern trade channels, retail operations, customer buying processes, and account management.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers and grow existing accounts.
• Strong track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
• Excellent negotiation, relationship-management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with buyers, retail partners, distributors, and senior customer stakeholders.
• Strong commercial understanding with the ability to evaluate opportunities, pricing, promotions, and business terms.
• Good understanding of sales planning, forecasting, distribution, merchandising, and market execution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales and market data.
• Proactive, target-driven, and comfortable working in a field-oriented sales environment.
• Strong follow-up, coordination, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and customer requirements simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and digital sales tools.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Jaipur and assigned markets as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline is preferred.
