Job Description - Chartered Accountant

About the Role


We are looking for a Chartered Accountant to join our Finance & Treasury team and take ownership of vendor payments, TDS and tax compliance, cash-flow monitoring, and treasury operations.


This role is ideal for a finance professional who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a hands-on approach to payments, taxation, reconciliations, controls, and process improvement.


You will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, vendors, banks, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.


Key Responsibilities


 Vendor Payments



  • Review and verify vendor invoices against POs, GRNs, contracts, and agreed commercial terms.

  • Plan and execute payment runs based on credit terms, cash availability, and internal approval policies.

  • Review payment data for duplicate payments, discrepancies, and exceptions.

  • Reconcile vendor ledgers and statements and resolve payment-related queries.

  • Maintain robust approval controls, documentation, and audit trails for all disbursements.


 TDS & Tax Compliance



  • Compute TDS accurately across applicable sections, rates, and lower/nil deduction certificates.

  • Ensure timely TDS deposits and quarterly return filings, including 24Q, 26Q and 27Q.

  • Manage issuance of Form 16 and Form 16A.

  • Reconcile TDS records with Form 26AS, AIS and TRACES and resolve mismatches, defaults, and notices.

  • Coordinate GST payments, reconciliations, and other statutory payments including PF, ESI and Professional Tax.

  • Support advance tax computation, tax audits, assessments, and departmental queries.


 Treasury & Cash Flow



  • Monitor daily cash positions and prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely closure of unreconciled items.

  • Coordinate with banks on payment processing, limits, banking operations, and issue resolution.

  • Ensure efficient utilization and visibility of available cash.


Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing



  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to treasury, payables, and tax accounting.

  • Prepare accruals, provisions, reconciliations, schedules, and MIS reports.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

  • Support statutory and internal audits by providing timely and complete information.


Process Improvement



  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline payment, reconciliation, and tax workflows.

  • Strengthen financial controls and compliance processes.

  • Drive improvements in ERP-based finance processes and reporting.

  • Identify operational gaps and proactively implement solutions.


What We're Looking For



  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1–5 years of post-qualification experience.

  • CA Inter/CMA Inter candidates with strong relevant experience may also be considered.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting.

  • Hands-on knowledge of Indian direct and indirect taxation, particularly TDS/TCS and GST.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar platforms.

  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to work with large datasets and reconciliations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.


Good to Have



  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, consumer brands, or digital commerce.

  • Exposure to marketplace/platform payment reconciliations.

  • Experience with banking portals and bulk payment platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with TRACES and tax reconciliation.

  • Interest in automation, process improvement, and finance transformation.

  • Strong ownership mindset with a bias toward execution.
