Cost accountant

Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing Joint Interest Billing (JIB), overseeing invoice creation and processing within the Accounts Payable (AP) module, and recording receipts in the Accounts Receivable (AR) module for payments received through ACH, wire transfers, and checks. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely financial processing.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  




• 1–4 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable - cash application, Cost accounting, or related finance operations.
  




• Strong understanding of AP and AR processes.
  




• Basic accounting knowledge.
  




• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  




• Good analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  




• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  




• Good communication skill - both Oral and written.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in Oil & Gas or shared services environments.
  




• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  




• Knowledge in Joint Interest Billing (JIB) processes is preferred.
