Job Description - CRO Specialist - 65902548329

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Specialist

Role Type: Part-Time (Approximately 20 hours/week)

Location: Remote (Flexible; UK, South Africa, or EMEA time zone preferred with overlap for UK working hours)

Reports to: Head of Brand Marketing & Ecommerce / E-commerce Lead

About the Company & Opportunity

Our client is a high-growth, design-led health, wellness, and ecommerce brand pioneering innovation across international direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels, retail, and B2B partnerships. Operating on Shopify Plus, our client is actively expanding its global digital footprint across dedicated regional storefronts (US, UK, EU).

As part of their next phase of growth, our client is hiring a dedicated Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Specialist on a part-time basis (~20 hours per week). You will take end-to-end ownership of the conversion roadmap, continuously auditing funnel behavior, forming data-backed hypotheses, running rigorous A/B and multivariate tests, and implementing optimisations to maximize Conversion Rate (CVR), Average Order Value (AOV), and Revenue Per Visitor (RPV).

Key Responsibilities

  • Funnel Auditing & Data Analysis: Continuously measure and analyze user behavior across all digital touchpoints (landing pages, product pages/PDPs, cart, and checkout flows) using GA4, Shopify Analytics, and heatmapping/behavioral tools (e.g., Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar).

  • CRO Roadmap & Experimentation Strategy: Own, prioritize, and manage the CRO testing backlog using an impact-vs-effort framework. Develop clear hypotheses, test plans, and baseline success metrics for every experiment.

  • A/B & Multivariate Testing Execution: Design, configure, and launch conversion experiments across mobile and desktop interfaces using modern A/B testing platforms (e.g., VWO, Convert, Intelligems, or native Shopify experimentation tools).

  • Checkout & Onsite Optimization: Collaborate on optimizing checkout experiences (Checkout Blocks/extensibility), product page messaging, mobile navigation, cross-sells, and post-purchase upsell flows.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the brand marketing, creative, and technical development teams to translate winning test variations into permanent, production-safe builds.

  • Reporting & Commercial Insights: Track test outcomes transparently. Present clear, plain-English findings to leadership—highlighting both winning implementations and valuable learnings from failed tests.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience running Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), digital analytics, and user experience (UX) testing for high-volume ecommerce/DTC brands.

  • Shopify Ecosystem Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Shopify or Shopify Plus environments, understanding cart, PDP, and checkout dynamics.

  • Analytics Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and session recording/heatmapping tools (Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar).

  • A/B Testing Tools: Demonstrated expertise with A/B testing frameworks and platforms (e.g., VWO, Convert, AB Tasty, Optimizely, Intelligems).

  • Data-Driven & Hypothesis-Led: Strong analytical mindset capable of converting qualitative user insights and quantitative event data into clear hypotheses.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills. Comfortable presenting trade-offs, technical briefs, and data findings directly to brand leadership.

  • Schedule & Availability: Available to work ~20 hours per week with consistent daily overlap with UK working hours.

Preferred / Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with DTC health, wellness, activewear, or consumer goods brands.

  • Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript or Shopify Liquid to build simple test variations.

  • Knowledge of price-testing, offer-testing, or bundle optimization tools (e.g., Intelligems).

  • Understanding of technical SEO considerations (e.g., redirect mapping, page speed impact during testing).

What Success Looks Like

  • Quantitative KPIs: Improvement in store Conversion Rate (CVR), Checkout Completion Rate, Average Order Value (AOV), and overall Revenue Per Visitor (RPV).

  • Qualitative Impact: Maintaining a structured, steady cadence of well-documented experiments and actionable CRO learnings every month.
