The Team

The role sits within the Cloud Engineering / Custom Apps team in Group Digital and contributes to the development, enhancement, and support of internally developed applications supporting platform engineering and business services.

The application portfolio includes operational tooling, reporting platforms, workflow automation solutions, integration services, and enterprise applications that enable critical technology and business processes across the Firm. The team collaborates closely with architects, senior developers, platform engineers, security teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.

The Role

The .NET Application Developer is responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications and services built on the Microsoft technology stack.

The role involves working across the software development lifecycle, contributing to solution design, coding, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative agile team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and operational requirements.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core technologies.
• Collaborate with senior developers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot application issues and support root cause analysis activities.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to improve software delivery efficiency.
• Support application deployments and production releases.
• Work with SQL Server and other data technologies to develop and optimize database solutions.
• Assist in implementing security, performance, and scalability improvements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of business requirements.
• Support application maintenance, upgrades, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and development practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 4+ years of experience in software development using Microsoft technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core/.NET 8, and ASP.NET Core.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and web applications.
• Experience working with SQL Server, database design, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS is desirable.
• Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with source control systems such as Git and Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated deployment processes.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
