Data Analyst

We are looking for an Engineer II – Data Analyst & MIS Reporting to support Garrett’s global R&D engineering teams by delivering accurate project costing, RDE spend analysis, and management reporting. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering managers, finance partners, and program teams to ensure data accuracy, timely insights, and improved decision-making. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong analytical mindset who enjoy working with data, solving complex problems, and driving business impact through reporting, automation, and visualization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Engineering RDE portfolio costing, finance dashboards, and global engineering KPI/scorecard reporting
  


• Generate and distribute accurate and timely management reports
  


• Act as focal point for NPI Global Time Recording System (TRS), ensuring proper tracking of project efforts against plans
  


• Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes through standardization, automation, and reporting enhancements
  


• Provide analytical insights and reporting support to engineering management teams
  


• Perform data mining and handle large datasets from multiple systems
  


• Work with business tools such as SAP/Oracle and manage complex data flows
  


• Automate recurring reports using Excel and Power BI
  


• Develop dashboards and visualizations (graphs, tables) for decision-making and problem-solving
  


• Build and maintain data models and reporting structures
  

Key Skills and Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in data analysis, MIS reporting, or related roles
  


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent (Master’s preferred)
  


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  


• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Macros, VBA)
  


• Basic programming knowledge in Python, R, SQL, or Power Automate
  


• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  


• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems
  


• Exposure to automation tools (RPA/BOTs, KNIME) and AI tools/prompt engineering is an advantage
  


• Excellent presentation, reporting, and communication skills
  


• Understanding of project management processes and engineering operations is preferred
  


• Knowledge of Automotive domain, Six Sigma, or Lean methodologies is a plus
  


• Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and ability to work independently as well as in teams
