Job Description - Data Analyst - Chemical Manufacturing Industry

Job Summary:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and presenting manufacturing and operational data to support management in making informed decisions. The role will focus on production, raw materials, inventory, quality, sales, manpower, maintenance, wastage, dispatch, and overall factory performance .All activites related to day to day operations & management reports are mandatory to generate from Excel & Power BI.

E. Manpower & HR Analytics

F. Maintenance Analytics

G. MIS & Management Reporting

H. Cost & Efficiency Analysis

I. ERP & Data Integration

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy of MIS and analytical reports

Timeliness of daily/weekly/monthly reports

Production Plan vs. Actual variance

Reduction in data errors and discrepancies

Inventory and consumption variance

Reduction in production wastage and rejection

Machine downtime analysis accuracy

Timely identification of operational deviations

Dashboard/report automation

Quality of management insights and recommendations

ERP data accuracy and reconciliation

Improvement in reporting turnaround time

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF functions, charts, dashboards, and data cleaning.

Knowledge of Power BI is preferred.

Basic understanding of SQL/database concepts will be an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes and factory operations.

Ability to work with large volumes of data.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to convert complex data into simple management reports.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in:

Statistics/ Operations Management

Mathematics / Commerce / Finance

Data Analytics

Business Analytics

Computer Science

A certification in Data Analytics / Power BI / Advanced Excel is mandatory

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in FMCG, chemical, cleaning & hygiene products, manufacturing, pharma, food, or similar production environments will be preferred.

Experience in analyzing production, inventory, quality, manpower, maintenance, and operational data will be an advantage.
