Data Engineer -Healthcare Interoperability

Role Overview: We are seeking a specialized Integration and Data Engineer to orchestrate the complex flows of information between our platform, major US health systems, and analytics environments. This role bridges traditional HL7 data streams with modern cloud data warehousing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain interface engine channels (Mirth Connect, Iguana, and Rhapsody) using JavaScript/Lua to ingest HL7 ADT feeds from health -system partners
  

• Implement and configure modern SMART -on -FHIR launch patterns and Epic Care Everywhere integration patterns.
  

• Build out bi -directional API workflows with external laboratory vendors (e.g., Natera for genetic/carrier screening) and payer eligibility systems
  

• Design write -back schemas and scale data pipelines into Snowflake to support data visualization layers in Tableau Cloud, utilizing Tableau Extensions (React/JS) for physician actions
  

Requirements

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• Interoperability Tools: Mastery of at least one major engine (Mirth Connect, Iguana, or Rhapsody) and standard protocols (HL7 v2/v3, FHIR).
  

• Languages: JavaScript, Lua, and highly proficient SQL.
  

• Data Stack: Solid experience with Snowflake (Snowpark/Python APIs) and Tableau Cloud.
  

• Experience: 5+ years working inside US healthcare ecosystems, directly handling hospital EHR integrations (Epic/Cerner).
