Job Description - Database Admin MS SQLServer/SQLAzure Ex

Requirements

Required – Technical Skills

5+ years of experience in database engineering and PostgreSQL administration.
Hands-on experience managing Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server, including high availability (HA), capacity planning (SKU/IOPS sizing), backups, and maintenance windows.
Proven experience executing database migrations to PostgreSQL using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS).
Experience validating migration results, including row counts, LOB data verification, and sequence reconciliation.
Working knowledge of Oracle databases, including schema conversion, data type mapping, and migration considerations.
Experience working with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including ConfigMaps, Secrets, Kustomize, and rolling deployments.
Strong understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS.
Experience integrating Azure Key Vault with AKS for secure secrets management.

Nice To Have (Technical Skills)

Experience with database migration/versioning tools such as Flyway or Liquibase.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Bicep.
Experience creating migration cutover plans, validation checklists, and rollback procedures.
Experience working in greenfield cloud environments and platform implementations from scratch.

Responsibilities (Activities to perform)

Administer, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL databases hosted on Azure.
Plan and execute database migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
Ensure database availability, performance, security, and operational reliability.
Support Kubernetes-based deployments and database-related platform integrations.
Implement and maintain secure secrets management using Azure Key Vault.
Develop and execute migration runbooks, validation processes, and rollback strategies.
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud engineering teams to deliver database solutions.
