Job Description - Deputy Supervisor purchase department

Position: D. Supervisor
Reporting to: Supply Chain Manager

Purpose of the Role

The role is responsible for overseeing the purchase department, establishing buyer goals based on corporate inventory needs and sales projections for the coming year, and setting career objectives for each member of the purchasing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.
  • Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and maintain those levels throughout the year.
  • Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow -moving stock to help offset losses.
  • Manage company day -to -day purchasing activities and ensure all purchasing agents meet their personal performance standards.
  • Supplier relationship management.
  • Assist in developing more effective invoicing and collection processes to ensure supplier payments are made 100% on time.

  • Ensure costing and development timelines are adhered to.
  • Ensure supply lead time for the smooth flow of the procurement process.
