Position Overview:
Rishihood University is building MaNaS - The Mahesh Navani School of Brain, Body, and Behaviour to respond to this national challenge with scale and seriousness. It is a first of its kind institution bringing together psychology and neuroscience; behavioural and cognitive sciences; mental health innovation and Indic knowledge system.
The Director is a leadership role
responsible for the strategic, academic, operational, and financial success of
the programme. We are looking for someone who can convert momentum into a movement. Someone who sees mental well - being as a nation building mission, not a project, someone who can attract top faculty. raise resources, create breakthrough programs, and architect an institution that sets new global benchmarks.
The role focuses on
delivering high -quality, learner -centred education rooted in psychological
theory, evidence -based practice, and professional readiness. The Programme
Director leads academic programme management, curriculum innovation, teaching
excellence, faculty growth, student internships and placements, stakeholder
engagement, and ensures programme effectiveness across all touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision
Ownership and Institutional Alignment. Serve as the academic and strategic anchor for
the programme, ensuring alignment with the university’s vision, values, and
long -term goals.
- Embed the institution’s values and mission into
every facet of programme design and execution.
- Act as a champion of the programme’s identity
and thought leadership within and beyond the institution, strengthening its
impact on mental health education and practice.
- Lead the development of future -facing
capabilities, fostering innovation in teaching, social relevance, and
community -based practice.
Programme
Management & Learner Experience
- Oversee
all academic operations including academic calendars, scheduling, learner
communications, and assessments.
- Ensure
a seamless and learner -centric experience, resolving grievances efficiently and
maintaining high satisfaction scores.
- Monitor
key academic and operational metrics, implementing corrective actions to
maintain programme quality and consistency.
Team
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead
a cross -functional team including faculty members and programme managers, to
achieve strategic and academic goals.
- Conduct
regular team reviews, mentorship sessions, and implement professional
development plans for all staff members.
- Foster
a high -performance culture with clear accountability and a focus on
collaborative problem -solving.
- Promote
academic innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the teaching
team.
- Drive
high -impact teaching across all courses, targeting â¥85% student satisfaction as
measured through feedback mechanisms.
Stakeholder
Engagement & Industry Partnerships
- Build
and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clinical
institutions, research centres, mental health professionals, alumni, and
academic bodies.
- Organise workshops, conferences, guest lectures, and mental health initiatives in
collaboration with professional organisations.
- Represent
the institution at key ecosystems, including academic forums and professional
networking events, to expand visibility and strengthen thought leadership.
Financial
Management and P&L Ownership
- Hold
full responsibility for the programme's Profit & Loss (P&L), ensuring
financial sustainability and optimal use of resources.
- Drive
revenue through enrolments, partnerships, and sponsored initiatives &
grants while controlling costs.
- Prepare
and present quarterly financial and performance reports to institutional
leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Academic
Excellence and Curriculum Design
- Provide
strategic leadership in developing and delivering a forward -thinking psychology
curriculum that integrates foundational theory, applied practice, emerging
psychological research, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
- Oversee
academic delivery to ensure pedagogical excellence, integrating experiential
learning, case studies, and entrepreneurial simulations.
- Ensure
rigorous academic standards through regular curriculum audits, internal
reviews, and incorporation of feedback from learners and industry stakeholders.
- Incorporating the latest and relevant topics while designing the curriculum through extensive
research.
Admissions, Internships, Placements & Career Pathways
- Oversee
and support admissions strategy and execution to attract high -quality,
mission -aligned applicants to the programme.
- Encourage
students for internship placements, with a significant share secured at
clinical/practical settings such as hospitals, counselling centres, NGOs,
schools, or research labs.
- Facilitate
strong career outcomes, ensuring at least 90% of graduates secure employment or
successfully launch ventures.
- Collaborate
with professional bodies and institutions to provide diverse practicum
opportunities aligned with students’ career paths
Education & Experience Required
- PhD in Psychology or related fields.
- 7 -12 years of industry/Academic experience.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Alignment with RU’s impact -driven mission.
