Job Description - Duty Doctor and Medical Officer

Markandey Healthcare and Research Center is looking to hire Medical officer and duty doctors for upcoming Markandey Healthcare and Research Center. A Duty Doctor is a medical professional responsible for overseeing patient care during a specified duty shift, ensuring timely and efficient management of healthcare needs.


Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial assessments and provide treatment for acute medical conditions.
  • Monitor the progress of admitted patients and update treatment plans as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including clinical notes and discharge summaries.
  • Report critical patient updates to senior consultants or specialists.
  • Emergency Management: Provide immediate care in emergency situations (e.g., cardiac arrest, trauma).
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, and IV line insertions.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care.
  • Communicate with patients’ families regarding the condition and treatment plan.



Requirements

MBBS Degree: A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized medical institution.
  • License/Registration: Registration with the relevant medical council (e.g., Medical Council of India, GMC in the UK, etc.).
  • Postgraduate Degree/Diploma (preferred for some roles): MD, MS, or a diploma in a relevant specialization.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical procedures, patient care, and diagnostics.
  • Emergency Management: Ability to handle medical emergencies and perform basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) procedures.
  • Decision -Making: Quick decision -making skills under pressure.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a multi -disciplinary team.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with medical software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Empathy and Compassion: For patient -centered care.
  • Attention to Detail: Critical in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Adaptability: To diverse patient cases and dynamic healthcare environments.
  • Adherence to ethical medical practices and confidentiality standards.
  • No history of malpractice or disciplinary actions.
