Job Description:
As a Music Teacher at Nalanda Vidya Niketan, you will play a pivotal role in enriching our students' educational experience through the power of music. You will be responsible for inspiring and guiding students in their musical journey, fostering a love for music, and helping them develop their skills and talents.
Responsibilities:
Music Instruction: Deliver high -quality music instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, covering areas such as music theory, instrument technique, ensemble playing, and vocal performance.
Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with educational standards and meets the diverse needs of our student body.
Individualized Learning: Provide personalized instruction and support to meet the unique learning styles and goals of each student, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Ensemble Direction: Lead and facilitate music ensembles such as choirs, bands, or orchestras, guiding students in rehearsal techniques, repertoire selection, and performance preparation.
Performance Opportunities: Organize and facilitate regular opportunities for students to showcase their musical talents through performances, recitals, concerts, and other events within the school community and beyond.
Music Appreciation: Cultivate an appreciation for music among students by exposing them to a diverse range of musical genres, styles, and cultural traditions.
Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external partners to support students' musical development and integrate music into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assessments, and performances, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their growth and development as musicians.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Teaching certification/license (if applicable)
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more musical instruments and/or vocal performance
Prior teaching experience in a school or educational setting, preferably with students of varying ages and backgrounds
Strong knowledge of music theory, music history, and pedagogical approaches to music education
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Passion for music and a commitment to fostering students' musical abilities, creativity, and confidence
