General Summary:

Multimedia Audio Systems team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer to implement and commercialize state-of-the-art speech enhancement models on embedded platforms such as HIFI, HEXAGON DSP and ARM. The role focuses on designing, analyzing, and optimizing advanced signal processing and Neural Network based algorithms for voice and audio applications which include echo cancellation, noise suppression and target source separation. You will get an opportunity to work on cutting-edge product designs across various domains, including mobile, compute, XR/AR/VR, IoT, and wearable devices.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and optimize advanced audio signal processing algorithms such as adaptive filtering algorithms for echo cancellation and Noise Suppression. 
• Implementation and Optimization of NN workloads on the DSP and ARM with HW acceleration on ARM (Neon/SME) and NPU (Neural Processing Unit) 
  
• Collaborate with Cross functional teams to integrate audio solutions into diverse product lines 
  
• Support debugging, tuning, and troubleshooting algorithm performance issues for commercialized solutions. 
  
• Participate in the full product development lifecycle, from concept to commercialization. 

Minimum Qualifications 
Experience developing and optimizing neural network (NN) workloads on any digital signal processor (DSP) architectures such as HiFi, Hexagon, or ARM/MCU 

• Experience working with neural network (NN) frameworks and runtimes such as LiteRT/TensorFlow Lite (TFLite), Open Neural Network Exchange Runtime (ONNX Runtime), TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers (TFLM), Qualcomm Neural Network (QNN), or Qualcomm AI Runtime (QAIRT). 
• Experience using neural network (NN) optimized libraries and extensions such as HiFi NN extensions, Nature DSP, XNNPACK, CMSIS-NN, or Hexagon NN (HexNN). 
• Experience converting MATLAB algorithms into platform code, such as embedded C. 
• Knowledge of fixed-point programming. 
• Strong understanding of speech enhancement techniques, including Echo Cancellation and   Noise Suppression (ECNS) algorithms or audio denoising algorithms and models. 
• Strong background in digital signal processing (DSP) and embedded concepts 
• Strong scripting skills in MATLAB or Python. 
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++. 
  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong communication and teamwork skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
