Role Purpose Statement:

Ensure Food Safety & Quality Compliance. Need to ensure that quality lab is functional as intended to strengthen the quality systems in Ingredient units. Products dispatched from unit should be consistent to company requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Quality checking – Check and ensure that product quality is as per Bunge specs /Legal specs in chemical analysis and PCRO.


• Need to ensure that all PM receipt should be as per Bunge specifications.


• Get necessary dispatch plans from supply chain dept, coordinate with logistics team for trucks and with units for timely loading and dispatch


• Ensure that units are filling all log sheets from material receipts to FG dispatch as per Bunge systems


• Ensure that standards are followed in filling machines, log sheets entered and preventive maintenance taken care.


• QA systems- provide specs, procedures, training in Bunge standards. Ensure all records kept properly for traceability requirements.


• Need to ensure that counter samples are sent from unit to nearest own unit for cross checking the analysis being done in sourcing units. Corrective action in case of any variation in results.


• Keep people management skills and ensure proper coordination between Bunge and units without any frictions affecting the production and dispatch


• Attend quality complaints and follow up units for action plans and necessary closure.


• Provide continuous training for unit people to improve standards of production, process, QA, loading, Housekeeping and other food safety standards.


• To coordinate with unit and Bunge central QA to conduct food safety and quality audit every year for quality system strengthening and improvement. Follow up with unit to implement the gaps identified during the actual audit conducted by central QA team.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Quality of Stocks    – 100% of product dispatched from unit should be meeting the quality specifications.

Quality System       – Need to ensure that all lab. Instruments are working and calibrated as per schedule.

Customer complaint & Documentation – Documentation of process and quality parameters, Management of counter  

                                                                       samples and complaint handling/ resolution

Major Opportunities and Decisions:

Quality check, customer handling and documentation related to process controls and quality analysis.

Management/Leadership:

Should be a M.Sc. Chemistry /oil technologist. Fresher should have good coordination, communication skill and leadership quality to coordinate with senior and junior management in both Bunge and sourcing unit sides to get the desired results. Computer knowledge for working and communication is must.

Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces:

Supply chain/ Logistics/ Procurement/Marketing/R&D/ Packaging development in Bunge cross functional teams/ External stake holder like – Contract manufacturing units management team / PM vendors etc.

Should have leadership skills and sound subject knowledge to train the persons concerned in 2P/3P units.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies:

Should be Technically competent/ Good leadership quality and value for commitment.

Education/Experience

• Should be a M.Sc. Chemistry / Oil Technologist fresher candidate.


• Sound knowledge about different oils, processing, and quality checks techniques.


• Good at coordination skill and knowledge of computers and report generation.


• Travel to market & customer point on need basis for complaint handling, product improvements etc.
