ABOUT US

Rishihood
University

Rishihood
University (RU) has been established under The Haryana Private Universities
(Amendment) Act, 2020 and is empowered to award degree as specified in section
22 of UGC Act, 1956.

Rishihood
University is India’s first and only impact university. ‘Impact’ is the living
spirit of Rishihood. The purpose of education envisioned by the thought leaders
of our civilization and that which has motivated the founders to build
Rishihood University is beyond just awarding degrees and jobs. The purpose of
education is to achieve the highest potential in a learner i.e., Rishihood.
Rishihood University provides a unique mix of globally relevant education that
is rooted in Indian ideas, quality education that is affordable, and a
multi -disciplinary exposure with cutting edge skills of a specialist. To
achieve this outcome, education cannot be limited to within the classrooms. RU
is a fully residential campus where living and learning seamlessly integrate
throughout the day. RU faculty and learners have an active participation with
society, industry, researchers, entrepreneurs, and policy makers. This keeps
the learning at RU focused on solving the biggest challenges faced by humanity
and prepares our learners for the real world. It is time India builds
universities driven by a higher purpose, that have a strong committed board to
back it, that redefine the way education is imparted both within and outside
the classroom. Rishihood is a bold initiative to fulfil this idea.
Hence, we are looking for like -minded founding faculty members at Rishihood
University.

About Position

Track | Robotics & Mechatronics

Kinematics & Dynamics  •  Control
Systems  •  Autonomous Systems  •  Mechatronics

Someone once
taught you why a linked list beats an array in certain conditions, and
something clicked. That moment of clarity, when the why behind the code finally
lands, is exactly what we are trying to create at scale for every student who
walks through our doors. We need the person who can make that happen.

You will join Rishihood
as a Faculty with full teaching ownership of the Core Software Engineering
track. This is the bedrock of the programme. As you grow, you will take on
Track Lead responsibilities: defining curriculum direction, building the
faculty team, and connecting with industry to bring real problems into the
classroom. You will not be executing someone else's vision. You will be
building your own.

Key
Responsibilities

  • Teach
kinematics, dynamics, and control theory, going deep on the why and not
    just the what

  • Design
and lead lab sessions where students implement forward and inverse
kinematics, tune controllers, and build working robotic systems from the
    ground up

  • Bridge
theory and practice: connect Lie group formulations to ROS
implementations, screw theory to physical manipulator behaviour

  • Run
structured project critiques and demo days that build honest engineering
    judgment

  • Mentor
students on capstone and thesis work in robotics, autonomous systems, or
    mechatronics

  • Own
the Robotics curriculum as Track Lead, hire junior faculty, and set the
    academic standard for this track

  • Work
closely with the Lab Lead to ensure laboratory infrastructure, robotic
platforms, and practical sessions are tightly integrated with theory
    instruction

Job Specifications

·       You should hold an PhD or MTech (or equivalent in
Robotics, Mechatronics, or Control Engineering), or equivalent in a relevant
field. Beyond the degree, here is what we care about.

Technical Depth

  • Expert
command of core robotics theory: forward and inverse kinematics,
Denavit -Hartenberg parameters, Jacobian analysis, and workspace
    characterisation

  • Deep
fluency in dynamics: Newton -Euler and Lagrangian formulations for robotic
manipulators, and how these translate to real hardware behavior

  • Strong
grounding in control systems: PID, computed torque, state -space methods,
and at least one advanced approach such as sliding mode, MPC, or impedance
    control

  • Working
knowledge of modern robotics formulation: screw theory, product of
exponentials, and Lie group representations (SO(3), SE(3))

  • Familiarity
with probabilistic robotics and autonomous systems: SLAM, Bayesian
estimation, sensor fusion, and motion planning algorithms

  • Hands -on
experience with robotic platforms, sensors, actuators, and embedded
systems; comfort with ROS, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent practical
    environments

The Person

  • You
treat teaching as a craft, take ownership proactively, and are comfortable
with structured critique of your students' work and your own

  • You
can explain screw theory to a second -year student who has never seen a Lie
    group, and make it land

  • You
have the patience for a student genuinely struggling with the maths, and
the honesty to push the one who is coasting on intuition

  • You
are equally at home with a whiteboard full of derivations and a lab bench
    full of wires

Good to Have

  • Familiarity
with the Modern Robotics textbook (Lynch & Park) or equivalent
    graduate -level treatment

  • Background
in parallel robots, cable -driven systems, compliant mechanisms, or soft
    robotics

  • Experience
with computer vision in robotics: epipolar geometry, visual odometry, or
    vision -based control

  • Exposure
to reinforcement learning or formal methods applied to robotic autonomy

  • Academic
writing, course material development, or research publication track record

  • Industry
experience with robotic systems integration, automation, or autonomous
    vehicles

This job
description is not intended to be all -inclusive. The employee may be expected
to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
