Job Description - GM - Sales / Business Development

Position Overview: The General Manager - Sales / Business Development will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing key customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the automotive industry, particularly in wire and harness systems, and a proven track record of driving sales and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development:

    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets.
    • Identify and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategic planning.
  • Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with automotive OEMs and other potential clients.
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective customers and projects.
  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong, long -term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client needs and concerns promptly.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the sales and business development team, fostering a high -performance culture.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Financial Management:

    • Prepare and manage the sales and business development budget.
    • Monitor sales performance metrics and take corrective actions as necessary to meet financial targets.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and R&D, to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
    • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional activities and materials that support sales efforts.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 20+ years of experience in a senior sales or business development role within the automotive industry, with a focus on wire and harness systems or any other relevant industry. 
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive OEM market and industry trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
