Head of SEO

 Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of SEO to lead and scale organic growth across all GEDU Global brands. This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing a unified, enterprise-level SEO strategy that supports multi-brand, multi-market business objectives. 

The role requires deep expertise in SEO within the education sector, strong command of AI-driven search optimization, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with global teams to drive student acquisition, brand visibility, and revenue growth through organic channels. 

Key Responsibilities 

Global & Multi-Brand SEO Strategy 

• Define, own, and execute the global SEO strategy across all GEDU Global brands, ensuring alignment with business, marketing, and enrollment goals. 


• Establish standardized SEO frameworks, governance, and best practices while allowing flexibility for brand-specific nuances. 


• Set, track, and optimize SEO KPIs including organic traffic, rankings, leads, conversions, and ROI at both brand and group levels. 

AI-Led Search & Future-Ready SEO 

• Drive SEO strategies aligned with AI-powered search engines and experiences, including Google SGE, ChatGPT, and other AI content discovery platforms. 


• Optimize content for AI-driven results, semantic search, and evolving user intent. 


• Stay ahead of algorithm updates and emerging search trends to future-proof GEDU’s organic presence. 

Technical SEO Leadership 

• Oversee technical SEO audits and optimization across all brand websites, ensuring best-in-class site health, crawlability, indexation, and performance. 


• Partner with product, IT, and development teams to embed SEO best practices into website architecture, CMS, page speed, mobile-first design, and structured data. 


• Ensure consistency in technical standards across multiple domains and platforms. 

Content, Keyword & On-Page SEO 

• Lead enterprise-level keyword research and intent mapping across geographies, programs, and audiences (students, parents, professionals). 


• Collaborate with global content and brand teams to deliver SEO-optimized, high-quality educational content that drives visibility and conversions. 


• Monitor content performance and continuously optimize through data-driven insights. 

Off-Page SEO & Authority Building 

• Define and oversee global link-building and digital PR strategies focused on acquiring high-authority, education-relevant backlinks. 


• Build partnerships with influencers, institutions, publishers, and media to strengthen GEDU brands’ domain authority. 


• Proactively manage and protect brand reputation across search ecosystems. 

Student Acquisition & Conversion Optimization 

• Align SEO initiatives with lead generation, enrollment, and revenue goals for each brand. 


• Optimize landing pages, funnels, and user journeys to improve organic conversion rates. 


• Drive local SEO strategies for regions and campuses where applicable. 

Analytics, Reporting & Insights 

• Leverage tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and similar platforms to monitor performance at scale. 


• Deliver clear, executive-level reporting showing SEO impact on business outcomes. 


• Conduct competitor and market analysis across regions and brands to identify growth opportunities. 

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management 

• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing SEO team supporting multiple GEDU Global brands. 


• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning. 


• Act as the SEO subject-matter expert for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. 

Key Requirements 

• 14–16 years of SEO experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the education or ed-tech sector. 


• Proven experience managing SEO at scale across multiple brands, websites, regions, or markets. 


• Deep expertise in technical SEO, on-page, off-page, and content-led growth strategies. 


• Strong understanding of AI-driven SEO and search evolution. 


• Advanced proficiency in SEO and analytics tools. 


• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and work in complex, cross-functional environments. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience supporting global or multi-campus education institutions. 


• Strong exposure to international SEO, multilingual and multi-region optimization. 


• Background in online education, higher education, or ed-tech platforms. 


• Technical education preferred (MCA/BCA/Engineering) with working knowledge of coding and web technologies.
